A few travel essentials

So exciting stuff is happening - in a couple of days I will be setting off for PARIS!! I am currently trying to contain my excitement, while writing this post as well as trying not to think of how I am nowhere near packed or organised. I have never been to Paris before and like everyone else have been dreaming of going as it is the most beautiful city and of course has a few dozen shops I am beyond excited to go in 'cough cough Sephora'... So I'm setting of on friday the 26th with my friend, Olivia and we've decided the easiest (slash cheapest) way to get to Paris is by plane. We're flying from our local airport so it isn't as much of a hassle and this is way we can bribe our parents to give us a lift to the airport and help us carry our possibly, overpacked suitcases. So I thought this would be a great opportunity to do a 'travel essential' blog post, while also trying to force myself to organise my suitcase and many other things I still haven't sorted.

Clearly the first thing everyone should make sure they have is their passports, because even though Paris is right on our doorstep, being only around a 2 hour flight away, one must remember we are entering a different country and one's passport is necessary for a successful trip (sarcasm again). I find it easier to keep everything important like my passport and plane tickets in one handy folder or a seperate small travel bag so when I need them they're easy to reach. Another important thing to consider is travel insurance, just to be reassured that you are covered if something does happens, even if it is just your standard travel insurance, its better to be safe than sorry.

The next thing I make sure I have is anything I need for when I arrive so the details of where I am staying and print outs confirming my booking. We decided we would stay somewhere cheap and cheerful, as to safe as much money for our shopping spree, because there's a few dozen make-up and beauty items on my shopping list. We had both stayed in the Generator Hostel before in London and knew they had a hostel in Paris and thought this would be perfect. The Generator Hostel is mainly for students but welcomes all travelling individuals and is a quirky and modern hostel that gives the option of sharing a room or booking a private room which we decided we would do (I swear I am not copying/quoting from their website).

I also like to carry a few small beauty items such as moisturiser, lip balm and some hand sanitizer or hand cream, as well as some make-up bits to refresh my tired looking face from the flight over. These include some of my favourites like the Maybelline 'master precise' liquid eyeliner, the Collection 'lasting perfection' concealer, Soap&Glory's solar powder, the Hourglass ambient lighting blush and Mac's sample size false lashes extreme black mascara.

Hopefully this was helpful to those of you who will be on your travels soon, and there should be, fingers crossed a Paris blog post and haul coming up when I get back.

Starting a blog

So I've decided I should jump on this whole band wagon of starting a blog, but I have literally no idea where to start? I mean what do I call it, what do I write about and do I have to be good at writing (because I am most certainly not the greatest) But I've decided to get over this little issue and just hope (and pray) it comes as I go and I actually get a few followers/readers (otherwise this would be pointless).

I thought I would start by sharing a few things I'm interested in, so like others I'm obsessed with make-up and beauty and the constant obsession of having the best make-up products and trying all make-up and beauty things that are new and shiny. Among other things I like, there's my interest in interiors and fashion and my (hopefully realistic) dream of becoming a fashion photographer and just simply being a part of the fashion world, seen as my other dream of becoming a model for Chanel and Marc Jacobs clearly isn't happening (by the way for some who may think I'm being serious - this is clearly a sarcastic remark, this I do a lot). My hobbies include sitting on my behind and not doing much other than watching films, tv series and YouTube videos to my heart's content and and once in a blue moon going to the gym or doing some form of exercise.

This blog will fingers crossed, be about things I'm interested in or want to share, and just anytime I possibly need to vent to a computer screen. As I procrastinate by watching Pretty Little Liars (another obsession and constant favourite) I'm thinking I should probably post this and pray someone reads it and also that the next post is better...
