HOMEWARE HAUL - CANDLES

My favourite homeware pieces at the moment are candles, I'm constantly burning them even on the hottest summer day. They're something you can never have too much of and I'm always looking for more. My favourites at the moment are slightly pricier, a more 'high end' set of candles. The first is my Jo Malone candle I got for my birthday, in the scent English Pear and Freesia which is a lovely lighter fruity scent and I've yet to burn this because it's my favourite. The next two I picked up from Diptyque while I was in Paris in the scents Vanille and Mimosa. They're both quite different, Vanille being more of a winter candle and Mimosa a summer candle reminding me of cocktails abroad.

Although these are my favourite I don't like burning them for too long, so these cheaper ones are nice to have burning in the background instead. A trip to Primark is definitely worth it, just to get a few of their candles, at these prices you can never have enough. I've picked up more than a few from only £1 - £4 and they have such different scents to choose from. The next are from Tesco, and again are fruity scents - White Peach and Citrus & Passion Fruit and Melon. I'm more likely to go for a fruitier scent over spiced, but love the ever so slightly spicier scents in winter, which only makes me look forward to colder, winter days that hopefully come in the next couple of months.

Let me know what your favourite scents are?

THINGS I MENTIONED:
Jo Malone candle - English Pear and Freesia - £42
Primark candles - £1 - £4
Tesco candles £1.50 & £1.75
Diptyque large candle - Vanille - £40

PARIS PHARMACY & AESOP HAUL

I thought it was about time I do a small Paris pharmacy haul and when I watched other bloggers hauls and reviews of the pharmacy and how they said it was overwhelming, boy they were not kidding. I have never been in such a small and busy place, I witnessed people fight over the last duo set of Bioderma, pushing and shoving past each other to get to the long queues to the till. We'e talking worse than the Next and TOPSHOP Christmas sales. So here's a few things I managed to get my hands on without being tackled to the ground by someone.

The first thing I ran for was of course Bioderma, after hearing everyone rave about this - there was no way I was leaving France without it. I managed to pick a pack of the two large bottles up and two mini travel size versions. I've only used this for about a week now and its the best skincare product I've used. It's tough enough to remove your make-up but in no way harsh on your skin. I was worried this wouldn't work for me as I have eczema but I was completely wrong, this is great on my skin and hasn't irritated it in anyway.

The next two things was the NUXE Reve de Miel lip balm and La Roche-Posay Serozinc spray. I'm so glad I managed to get the last lip balm because oh my god this is so good on my gross dry lips, it has a really thick texture to it so is great for using it before you go to bed and when your lips are painfully dry. I've heard great things about the La Roche-Posay Serozinc spray and am eager to try it, so far I haven't so I'll leave a review as soon as I have and surely it's a good sign when someone screams at you for getting the last one.

I also treated myself to a little skincare product from Aesop I thought I would include in this haul, it's the Chamomile concentrate anti-blemish masque. I was also unsure of this due to my eczema, but the woman there was more than helpful and gave me a few samples to try for a day to see if I came up in some sort of reaction (as I also have a few allergies, when I say a few I mean a few dozen). So the test began and I put some on my face, arms and neck over night and with a miracle nothing appeared so that morning I quite literally ran back to the Aesop store and I'm so glad I managed to get my hands on and definitely recommend it. Another product I would recommend if you want a similar product but maybe your skin's slightly more sensitive I would give the Parsley Seed cleansing masque a go.

Stay tuned for a possible make-up haul from Paris also!

H&M HOMEWARE HAUL

My room lately, has been looking slightly tired and boring and in need of organising immediately, so the bad decision was made to order a few pieces. H&M is my favourite place to get some homeware pieces, everything on there is lovely and the temptation to put everything in my basket is too much. So I thought it was best to limit myself to only a few pieces, but how can you with all those great copper and marble pieces - it's safe to say my copper and marble obsession has grown slightly out of hand thanks to H&M.

The first things I bought was these great marble trays, pot and more randomly a cheeseboard that I'm not quite so sure what to do with it at the moment. They're all essentially the same thing but just in different shapes and sizes, but when they're this pretty, how couldn't you resist. I'm most likely going to use the pot to store my make-up brushes and then going to use the trays and cheeseboard to put jewellery, candles and some small trinkets on.

The next thing I could not resist, it's a small, cute pineapple pot with a candle inside. I mean how could anyone scroll past this, it's not only a pineapple it's also a candle, two of my obsessions so there was no way I wasn't going to order it. I also purchased a few copper things, the first two being a copper dish and copper round tray. These are again most likely going to be an accessory to my desk to store some nail varnish or jewellery. The next is this lovely copper, metal frame with a chain so it's easy to hang up and I'm already on planning on getting a few more. I also got some copper and bronze wire baskets, which are such a lovely way of storing things and look great on your desk or book shelf.

There's no way I could choose a favourite, because I love each item way too much. If you're looking for some lovely but affordable homeware pieces then H&M HOME is definitely where you should be looking.

THINGS I MENTIONED:
Pineapple candle
Marble small and large plate
Marble cheeseboard
Marble pot
Copper dish
Copper round tray
Copper photo frame

CHARLOTTE TILBURY HAUL & REVIEW

So I may have treated myself ever so slightly to a few Charlotte Tilbury products. I had been eyeing up a few products for a while so I eventually gave in. The first thing I bought was the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat, lip pencil in the shade 'pillow talk', I finally got my hands on this after hearing everyone raving about it - and I do not blame them one bit. This is my favourite lip pencil at the moment and it seems to go with every nude lip I pair it with. It cost £16 which is only a few pounds more than MAC's lip pencil and the few pounds difference is worth it. This is such a good quality product and I just find myself reaching for it each time I need a lip liner.

The next two items I got were part of her lipstick range, the first is the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick in the shade 'sexy sienna' and the second I was lucky enough to get for my birthday - her K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in the shade 'bitch perfect'. They're both quite different shades but both equally pretty, again that packaging is just the cherry on top. I loved the 'sexy sienna' lipstick for those sunny days and is great if your going away on holiday, it's a lovely peachy, pink lipstick and i just love that it's a matte lipstick so it comes out even better. The second lipstick, 'bitch perfect' is a more natural pink, nude which is great for the everyday look, I just love the colour and this may be, possibly my favourite out of the two (she quietly whispers not to offend the other lipstick).

By now I was scrolling through the never ending eye products and the cream eye shadow collection just caught my eye and I couldn't resist, so the shade I got was 'marie antoinette'. This is a lovely bronze shadow with a gold finish and is so, so pigmented and a little goes a long way with this product. The texture is so creamy and you only have to use a tiny bit to get this beautiful metallic, bronze shine over your eyelids. It's up to you whether you want to build the look up or work it down, personally I love building the colour up and working with then a darker eyeshadow in the outer corner to get this great smoky eye effect. I'm definitely eyeing up the rest of the shades as I most certainly need the rest of them in my life.

I have saved the best till last with the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar bronze and glow, face sculpt and highlight. I have never seen such a beautiful make-up product, I mean the packaging is just amazing and rose gold is a clear winner in my eyes. The product itself is amazing as well and that highlighter is just so shiny and lovely and I just want to wear it every second of every day. The bronzer is also lovely and they're both so great to work with, you could go all out or blend them out for a slightly more natural look. The highlighter is great for in the evenings, especially when I'm going out, I quite literally just pile it all on. Clearly I'm taken with this product, and luckily now Charlotte Tilbury has just launched a darker shade which is great for darker skin tones but this is the perfect colour for my pale skin and its great for when I'm slightly tanned as well - which is not that often.

Clearly after this long rant about how amazing Charlotte Tilbury's products are, I recommend anyone who's looking to treat themselves to give her products a go because they're all so lovely - and rant over.

THINGS I MENTIONED:
Lip Cheat, lip pencil - Pillow Talk
Matte Revolution lipstick - Sexy Sienna
K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick - Bitch Perfect
Eyes to Mesmerise cream eyeshadow - Marie Antoinette
Filmstar bronze and glow, face sculpt and highlight - Light

June Favourites

It's that time of the month where I try to look back on the last 30 days of June and wonder where the hell those days went and what I've actually managed to get done in those days, let's just leave it at not much. Although I may not have accomplished many useful things, I have had a pretty exciting month beginning with finishing college and ending with going to the beautiful city that is Paris.

So I'm just going to get started before I begin to ramble on and this gets way too off topic, so the first two things I want to talk about are my two favourite lipsticks from MAC and I have been loving their satin lipstick in 'twig' which everyone else has been raving about and I don't blame them. I love this lipstick and I think its such an easy lipstick to wear and to pear with so many different make-up looks, I have been wearing this non-stop other than when I've been wearing my second favourite lipstick by MAC which is their matte lipstick in 'kind of sexy'. This is more of a pinky nude colour and I bought this just before I went to Paris and wore it every single day I was there, its just such an easy everyday nude colour. I may even prefer this to MAC's 'velvet teddy' just because it's a slightly prettier, girly lip colour because of the slight pinkness of the lipstick.

The next lip product I have been loving is Charlotte Tilbury's lip pencil in 'pillow talk', which again is a lovely nude - if you can't tell already I have been loving nude colours this month for my lips as I think there such an easy everyday look. Charlotte Tilbury's products are slightly pricier, comparing to even MAC'S lip liners being £4 more but I can completely justify spending the extra pounds for the quality of her products. So far I have only tried a few of her products (fingers crossed for a Charlotte Tilbury haul and review coming soon) but the ones I have tried are such good quality and are worth a look if you want really high quality products. A slightly more affordable lip liner I've been loving is from New Look's new make-up range,  it's there nude lip liner in the shade '23 camel', this was only £1.99 which is even cheaper than a few high street lip liners. Obviously the quality isn't going to be as high as the Charlotte Tilbury lip liners but are completely worth getting your hands on because for this price the quality is great.

Moving on to a few of my favourite eye products now, starting with two of Maybelline's 24hr tattoo cream eyeshadow collection, one in the shade 'on and on bronze' and the next in the shade 'creamy beige'. The first one is a metallic bronze colour that comes out on your eyelids really pigmented and in a subtle glittery way and the second comes out in what they call their 'leather effect' range but still has a slight shine even though this is more of a matte cream eyeshadow. These are such great products if your looking for a quick and easy way to do your eyeshadow, you can just apply a small amount with your finger onto your eyelids and either work in with an eyeshadow brush for a more subtle look or build the look up for more of a going out look - usually I use my favourite eyeshadow brushes from Zoeva's rose gold collection, the 231 crease brush and the 227 definer brush to buff it out a bit at the crease of my eyelids and then to build the look up a bit more at the centre. I would completely recommend these two and am definitely planning on getting my hands on some more of their other colours. The next product I have been loving from Maybelline is their 'master precise' liquid eyeliner, I'm someone who has to wear eyeliner essentially everyday otherwise my face does not feel complete without it. I find doing my eyeliner is easier when I'm using a liquid eyeliner pen rather than a pencil or the liquid eyeliner pots, so this one from Maybelline is perfect, it doesn't dry up too quickly, and I get enough use out of it. It's probably the most boring product I have to talk about just because I use it possibly everyday and it's just my favourite because it just does the job (how many more times can I say just).

The next product is a skincare one, the body shop's 'vitamin e sink-in moisture mask'. Now I was bit hesitant before buying this just because I have eczema so that means I have really bad dry skin and I have sensitive skin also so I'm a bit courteous before trying any new skincare products so that I avoid irritating my skin. But I was completely taken aback by how hydrating this product was and how it soothed my skin and didn't irritate it whatsoever. You simply apply the product all over your face after you've of course cleansed your face and removed all make-up, in a thin layer and just let the product sink in for 10 minutes then just wipe away any excess you have left over on your face. This should and hopefully leave your skin feeling soothed and hydrated, I really love this on days where my skin is feeling especially dry and I will just take the time to cleanse my skin properly and then use this product to try and restore some of my skin's hydration.

My next favourite is a body scrub by Soap and Glory, it's their sugar crush body scrub in their scent sweet lime, and oh my god I have never smelt something so good, it just smells amazing. I also have the body wash in their 'orangasm' range which also smells amazing and I just love their bath and pamper products and I could sit here all day smelling the both of them - which I am currently doing, I cannot tell you how amazing they smell. So moving on to more of a hair favourite now, it's the Percy and Reed London 'volumising no oil oil', this is such a great product, it does exactly what it's says its meant to do which is give my thin, fair hair lots of volume which is what I need.

So hopefully this wasn't too long of a ramble and actually useful in some way or other, and fingers crossed, soon there should be a Paris post and haul coming and some new favourites for the month of July...
